KEEPING THE MEMORIES ALIVE Part I!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! After a long day of traveling with a sick child we arrived in Seattle, WA late Christmas Eve. I will do my best to keep my blog updated while I am away, so bare with me.

Over the next couple of days I want to share an extra special album I made my best friend Leslie for a Christmas present. I was honored to watch her little angel Katelyn be born this past June, and I thought what better way to share the special day again with Leslie, then to document some key moments. I really hope you all enjoy this book, I loved the way it turned out..

A SEASON OF GIFTS & GIVING PART III!

Okay this is the final "framed art" post for now.. I don't want overdue it, although I never get sick of them! The first one has a Certainly Celery & Basic Black emphasis, isn't this clean crisp look fantastic?

The second one is a gift I made my brother and his wife for Christmas, so I am crossing my fingers that they don't check out this blog before Christmas, so if you could cross your toes that would be great! Happy Looking!!

A SEASON OF GIFTS & GIVING....

Howdy all! As I am wrapping presents, visiting friends, still working on Christmas Cards (okay I think they are now going to be winter cards), and so much more I thought I would schedule some posts to hit over the next several days..

For my recent Holiday Bazaar I made several Framed Arts... I hope you are not sick of these because I just love them.. So, let's start with the two I did with Rub-Ons. This vine Rub-On is still one of my favorites and it came from the FREE Sale-a-Bration Brochure last year. As you can see I also spruced it up with some of our Pretties... I hope you enjoy!!

PHOTO CARDS

I love to stamp first, however my other passion is photography. Capturing special moments in someone's life is like sending a card you handstamped special for someone. Did that make sense? Over the past few years I have sent my photo cards and sold them at holiday bazaars, but for the first time you will see my favorite photo cards available for purchase at my blog store: doodlezdazestore.blogspot.com.

Below is one of the cards that will be featured in my Pug Card Pack. All of my photo cards will be sold in packs, not singly. This is my furry daughter Bella...you can say it... AWE!

HO HO HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS PART III

Okay are you on the edge of your seat? Just kidding, this is an ornament I was just playing around with. I really like how it turned out. Let me know what you think!!

SUPPLIES: Season Of Simple Grace (stamp set); Basic Black, Bashful Blue; Creamy Caramel (Card Stock); Bashful Blue, Basic Black (ink); 1/2" Striped Bashful Blue Ribbon, Crop-a-Dile, Snail Adhesive, Stick Strip, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds, and Yo Yo Yellow Stampin Write Marker. The container is from the craft store, I found them in the bead section.

I am actually going to do a whole set of these, one with the Three Wisemen and another using the Shepherds. I will post the whole set after I make them. I thought the set could be great for our MOPS ornament exchange. Enjoy!!

HO HO HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS PART II...

When I bought the square glass ornaments I also loved these round flatter ones, so I picked up a few of these as well. First, I tried just stamping on it and thought it was okay, but the ornament was screaming for some glitter. I think that is a theme around here, it seems all my projects scream for glitter...is it to much when you find glitter on your dog's head??

Anyhow, back to the subject at hand. This was a quick and easy ornament and I have to say so far my FAVORITE. I used VersaMark, Heat & Stick Powder, the Heat Tool (which I did from a distance because these ornaments can be fragile), and some fine glitter (we don't sell this color anymore, but we do have some others in the catalog)....and poof b-ea-utiful!! Don't you think this looks classy? And let me tell you the sparkle is WOW!!!

INSTRUCTIONS: Stamp image with VersaMark ink, pour heat & stick powder over images, Use heat tool to melt powder...again from a distance to ensure the glass does not break, next pour glitter over the stamped areas, heat once more and enjoy the sparkle. I added the grosgrain ribbon just to give it a little something extra!

HO HO HOLIDAY ORNAMENTS PART I!

We are on the downhill slide to the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas!! One thing I absolutely love about Christmas is ornaments. I have to admit I am a huge Hallmark ornament fan and frankly my mouth almost fell off when I saw the final price after I purchasing only FOUR ornaments. So, I have been on a mission to create cute ornaments this year... So, I will be sharing them with you over the next few days.

First, I want to start with these adorable square glass ornaments.. I recently posted one using reinkers, but I thought, I could do something so much cuter. Then, I stumbled across Kimberly Van Diepen's Blog (thanks Erin), and I knew what I had to do. These were so easy to make, and quite festive I must say. I really think the Rub-On's put their cuteness over the top, how about you.. Now I just need to decide which one I want to give at our MOPS ornament exchange...hmmm...

SUPPLY LIST: Various Designer Paper Scraps (1/2" x 3"), Various SU! Ribbon, & Rub On's, Big Snow Flurries, and The glass ornaments came from Hobby Lobby & Michael's. I got them 50% off, so the cost for a set of four was only $1.50-$2.00...not bad!!

LOOK-A-LIKE....OR NOT?!

I received this groovy card from a swap I did earlier this year, made by Milette Siler, and I wanted to make it in a standard sized card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"). I thought to myself how can I use the same cute design, but increase the size, while putting a little of me in it... well below you will see what I did. It kept the same base design with a slightly different approach (why reinvent the wheel, right...).

I just wanted to show you that you can make any project your own, with a little tweak here and there!

Have a great weekend, I will post pics from my Holiday bazaar sometime this weekend!

More Christmas Gifts & Goodies...

Hello all... I just wanted to quickly post a couple things I made at the end of last week. I will do my best to keep up my posts this week, but I am on the countdown to my big holiday bazaar, and I still have tons of work to do. so in the meantime I hope you enjoy the two items below...

SQUARE ORNAMENT: I saw these fun shaped ornaments on Angie Juda's blog, I knew I had to get some right away (they are at Michael's & Hobby Lobby). This is my first attempt with reinkers.. I used the classic ink, which was not the smartest idea as it is not permanent, so it really doesn't dry... so if you try this use permanent ink refills. I mixed Dazzling Diamonds in the ink to give it a little sparkle. My favorite part is the Rub-On's, the final product also has 2008 on the top. Enjoy...

FRAMED ART: Below is my latest Framed Art, I gave it to my step-sister for Christmas (we celebrated early). I have started adding clear photo corners to make it easier for the recipient to just pop in their own pictures. I just love these colors (Bella Rose DSP, Riding Hood Red CS, Basic Black CS)

RECYCLE, REUSE, & RING in the HOLIDAYS!

I am beyond excited to share this project with you. When I was looking at Angie Juda's Blog, I saw a cute gift card holder made out of the Scallop Circle Die from our Big Shot Machine. Well, once I saw it the bells and whistles started going off in my head (what don't you have those in your head?), and I thought I could do a similar project with something I had around the house. Those of you who know me, know I love to re-use things in creative ways.

So, I instantly thought I could use the lids from formula cans I had left over from the Holiday Trees projects made at a recent workshop. I just love it when projects turn out exactly like I envision them and when I find a use for something I decided to hang on to.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do....they are adorable if I say so myself... and easy to make!!
